We are looking for an efficient Line Cook to help our culinary team create memorable meals for our customers. You will be responsible for specific cooking and non-cooking duties in the kitchen, preparing high-quality food that meets the Sandbox’s standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare awesome meals for our customers.
- Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes.
- Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.
- Check food and ingredients for freshness.
- Arrange and garnish dishes.
- Work well under pressure and within the time limit.
- Ensure that the kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned.
- Help lead and inspire our staff with the rest of the kitchen team.
- Wow guests with amazing dishes.
- Be punctual, appropriately always dressed, and mindful of all company rules.
- Assist with weekly stock takes.

Qualification Required & Experience
Requirements
- High school (WASSCE) qualification or equivalent preferred.
- Culinary or tertiary school qualification or foreign equivalency is preferred but not an absolute requirement.
- Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
- Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
- Ability to take instruction as well as lead on their own in the absence of team leaders.
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
- Ability to use different kitchen equipment like slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
- Able to handle work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
