Nail technicians manage a range of essential tasks to support the operation of the salon or spa. This typically involves ensuring customers have an enjoyable experience to encourage repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing beauty services, such as manicures, pedicures, acrylic or gel extensions, and nail art
- Sterilizing equipment carefully to ensure excellent hygiene and client safety
- Offering excellent customer service throughout every client’s visit to the salon
- Filling, buffing, and shaping the nail to promote healthy cuticle growth
- Listening actively to understand what a client wants and making recommendations
- Providing hand and foot massages, applying moisturizer, and using paraffin wax treatments to soften skin
- Leasing with the concierge to know daily scheduled appointments and to ensure clients make their payment, cash or card payment
- Managing the inventory of nail polish colours and tools and reordering as necessary
- Teaching clients about healthy nail care practices and suggesting suitable products or regular services
- Following trends and learning new techniques to offer more diverse services
- Using small tools and attention to detail to paint intricate artistic designs on clients’ nails
- Recommend nail polish colours or new products, such as shellac rather than traditional polish
- Ensuring client comfort by asking about their preferences, such as water temperature when soaking feet
- Addressing customer concerns and resolving issues or complaints if they arise by collaborating with other nail technicians, receptionists, and other service providers in the same workplace
- To supervise and conduct the safety of users and equipment at the Spa and to receive training to ensure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the spa.
- To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as per Resense policy.
- Ensure that daily sales figures are accurately recorded.
- To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
- To cover reception as and when required.
- Courtesy to guests and other members of staff at all times

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- A high school diploma and additional certifications in nail technology are preferred.
- Proven experience as a nail technician in luxury or high-end hospitality settings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced manicure and pedicure techniques, including trending styles and treatments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a patient, meticulous approach to service.
- Strong ability to maintain focus and deliver consistent quality during extended sessions.
- Outstanding hand-eye coordination for precision in nail art and treatments.
- Excellent communication skills to connect with guests and understand their preferences.
- Superior customer service skills, with a commitment to creating a memorable and indulgent experience for each client.
- A passion for beauty and wellness, with an ability to promote products and services tailored to guest needs.
