Job Position: Financial Controller (TBH-JD-FA-022)
Reports to: Chief Finance Officer
Supervises: Cost Controller, Senior Finance officer, Finance Officers

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead in the implementation of the Hospital’s accounting system, standards, and procedures to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, timely production of financial statements and key statistics/data to guide decision-making
- Ensure effective cash flow management to meet the needs of the Hospital
- Achieve monthly financial reporting and quarterly management accounts dates set by Management, and Annual Financial Statement by the end of January each year
- Coordinate and lead in annual audits by liaising with external auditors, satisfying their need for information and explanations to achieve timely completion of annual audits
- Research technical accounting issues (new IFRS standards/amendments) for compliance in financial reporting
- Lead in the budgetary process and the implementation of approved annual budget (Profit & Loss and Capes) and monitoring monthly variances for timely reporting and corrective action (efficiencies and cost reduction strategies)
- Ensure all statutory payments and statutory returns are paid/submitted timely to ensure statutory compliance.
- Ensure that adequate supporting documents for each month end reporting to ensure audits expected timeframes when due – External Audit, Internal Audit and Ghana Revenue Authority Audits are completed within
- Take active steps to maintain and strengthen internal controls and work closely with Heads of Departments Unit Managers to achieve adherence to Hospital’s Internal Controls
- Mentoring and managing the performance of the accounting and finance staff
Qualification Required & Experience
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- A Master’s degree will be an advantage
- Professional Accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CA, or CIMA is required.
- Proficient working knowledge of Excel and accounting software
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
