VIS Ghana Job Vacancy: 1 Field Trainers for organic Agriculture – Crops and Livestock production under the LEEWYV Project.

Job Title: Field trainer for organic agriculture (Crops and livestock)
Report to: Project Assistant
The Task for the successful candidates includes but not limited to
- Monitor all crop and livestock related activities across our mentor farms

- Organizing and delivering tailored training in organic agriculture (both livestock and vegetable) for our mentor famers
- Provide technical backstopping for our mentor farmers in vegetable production under greenhouse and in open field cultivation.
- Assist and supervise Mentor Farmers in organizing practical demonstrating on the mentor farm
- Training of mentor farmers in intensive poultry and pig production
- Train mentor farmers in practical application of the topics provided
- Monitor and evaluate Mentor Farmers during and after training.
- Training of mentor farmers in non-traditional livestock production
- Assist in the evaluation of training participants at the various mentors farms
- Prepare and present a weekly report on activities carried out
- Carry out other activities as may be directed by Program manager
Required Skills or Experience
Requirements
The candidate should:
- Be familiar with the concept of organic agriculture
- Have proven work experience in the practical agriculture
- Have hands-on experience in vegetable production under greenhouse and in open field cultivation
- Have hands-on experience in animal production
- Have knowledge in poultry and pig production
- Have knowledge in non-traditional livestock production
- Be able to communicate in both English and Twi
- Be able to perform basic computer tasks
- Have a minimum, Diploma in agriculture from any accredited institutions
