We are one of the leading businesses in the oil & gas industry in Africa and beyond. We are seeking a high-performing and experienced lawyer to lead our legal team. Reporting to the CEO, the Legal Counsel will ensure the legality of commercial transactions, manage all corporate legal processes, anticipate and guard the business against all legal risks.
The Role
- Provide general and strategic legal support to Management to ensure that all corporate activities are in compliance with regulations.
- Negotiate major commercial transactions and non-routine transactions
- Draft and manage all contracts, legal reports and documents on behalf of the business.

- Manage and develop client relationships and manage external legal providers to ensure value for money.
- Represent the business before administrative and regulatory boards and at all court hearings.
- Manage and resolve major disputes with minimum impact to business either through mediation or litigation.
The Candidate
- A good degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited university. Master’s degree in Law is a plus
- Qualified Lawyer (BL) in good standing with the Ghana Bar Association.
- 8+ years post qualification experience as a lawyer in a related industry
- Strong commercial law background
- A track record of effectively managing external lawyers.
- Strong, analytical, drafting and negotiating skills
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
