Deputy Head of IT - Reputable Company

A reputable company seeks to employ a Deputy Head of IT. The Deputy Head of IT will be assisting the Head of IT in lending the development and implementation of IT policies, standards, the designs systems applications and network security in line with international best practices to supportthe organisation's business strategy.

DUTIES

• Assist in preparing annual budget rind work plans for Information Technology activities for approval by Management and monitor its implementation.
• Assist in developing on overall business case justifitritions and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives
• Support in IT Tender, Evaluation, Testing, Installation and Acceptance.
• Prioritise and antral projects as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development and installation of major Information systems within the organization.
• Establish and maintain strong professional working relationships with Telecommunication Companies, Regulatory Agencies, Service Providers, External Auditors and other stakeholderd in the area of IT management.
• Stay abreast with legislations, rules/regulations, new developments and international best practices in IT management and advice on new trends/practices in anticipation of new business initiatives and system alterations.
• Assist in preparing reports on the performance of the organization's IT system for management decision making.

• Research to identify new initiatives and infrastructure to support all operations and projects
• Assist in maintaining and updating IT procedures and documentation related to the organisation's processes and platforms operations.
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.

QUALIFICATION & COMPETENCIES

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field.
• A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT and Supervisory experience.
• Expertise in data center management and data governance.
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware /software systems.

• Experience with Firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Office365 Security, VSX and End point Security, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy and Security Audits.
• Must be conversant with at least one Financial and IT application (Sage ERP, SAP. Microsoft Dynamics etc).
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, project management and decision-making skills.
