Our Client is an international offshore Service provider experienced in Steel repairs and paint work and is looking for qualified candidates for the following position as Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer
Main Responsibilities
- Follow up and make technical input to the industrial safety aspects of project design and equipment testing
- Ensure proper investigation and follow up industrial accident reports for the purpose of identifying their root causes / effects and effective elimination of their causes
- Ensure that all statutory reports are properly and promptly prepared for the appropriate Government Agencies Definition / updating of safety technical standards
- Assistance for development and implementation of project HSE plans Development of project safety philosophy
- Provision of safety support to line functions (drilling, production, exploration) Reviewing implementation of HSE based mitigation measures by project engineers
- Assistance for the management of the safety interfaces between HSE System and Project Teams
- Assist in the annual budget preparation of safety equipment and materials

Required Skills / Experience
- Must have a Bachelor's degree, HND / Relevant qualification in related field, with minimum of: 3 to 5 years contract experience in the up-stream process and oil & gas projects of which at least 3 years working as a supervisor with a major oil company or 3 to 5 years contracts experience in the up-stream process and oil & gas projects, of which at least 2 years on major and/or high complexity contracts
- High risk management skills
- Supervision skills
- Ability to be a team player, frequent interaction with other disciplines and third parties.
- High ability to work effectively with people from multiple cultures and backgrounds
Years of Experience : 3 - 5 Years
Competencies
- High level of professional and personal integrity Very good ability to work independently when required
- Work under pressure to meet deadlines and time constraints Good degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Office programmes
- Good fluency in written and spoken English, particularly for contract terminology.
- Role characteristics: Initiative, proactive, ability to work effectively with people from multiple cultures and backgrounds.
- Positive attitude, work under constant pressure to meet deadlines and time constraints. Good communication skills
