A Public Service institution is seeking a versatile, proactive and results-oriented person for the position listed at its Head Office: Assistant Applications Development Manager (Web Application Developer)
- POSITION LOCATION: Accra
- REPORT DIRECTLY TO: Applications Development Manager
JOB PURPOSE
To develop and maintain web and mobile applications as well as the institution’s website.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the gathering of requirements, development, testing and documentation of business application software (web, mobile & desktop) based on Agile methodology.
- Timely implementation and effective maintenance of systems
- Design User Interfaces to improve user experience

- Produce fully functional software applications by writing clean code
- Design, develop and administer Relational Database Management Systems.
- Design reports using appropriate reporting tool.
- Troubleshoot and debug business applications and computer related issues in a timely & accurate fashion to optimize performance
- Maintain the organization’s website.
- Perform application & database back-up and recovery.
- Administer Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN), ensuring proper installation and documentation of computer systems.
- Carry out training of personnel on ICT systems.
- Provide status reports on project progress and outstanding issues.
- Stay up-to-date with new technological trends.
Required Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Communication Technology or its equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years relevant post-qualification work experience in a reputable organization.
- Must have completed one (1) year national service
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Experience of the full software development life cycle including design, testing, deployment, documentation and support activities
- Ability to understand business requirements and create innovative software solutions that meet stakeholder needs
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming principles
- Working knowledge of Relational Database design, performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting using Microsoft SQL & MySQL
- Knowledge in Unit Testing, Stress Testing, Integration Testing, Functional Testing and Mocking Frameworks
- Knowledge in Version Control (preferably Git)
- Excellent working knowledge in C#, Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, MVC, API, Entity Framework, IoC Frameworks, etc
- Proficiency in Web User Interface Design, Cross-Browser compatibility, Responsive UI using Ext JS Framework, Angular, React, HTML 5, CSS 3, jQuery & JavaScript etc
- Familiarity with PHP, Java, CMS (WordPress, Joomla, Kentico etc) is a plus
- Working knowledge of Mobile App. Development (native Android, IOS, Microsoft, Tizen) using any one of Xamarin, Flutter, Swift, Java, Kotlin is a plus
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs is a plus
