Responsible to the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Reviews, prepares and posts journal entries
- Reconciles sub-ledger to generate ledger account balances

- Plays a key role in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
- Assist with budget preparation and monthly actual vs budget variance analysis
- Assist with assessment of internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas
- Prepares and reviews task returns for various tax agencies
- Maintains and reconciled fixed asset schedules
- Provide assistance to internal and external audit functions including preparation of audit schedule

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
The applicant:
- Must be a professional teacher not below the rank of Principal Superintendent with not less than three(3) years working experience in that rank
- Must not be below 35 and must not be more that 45 years
- Must have a commitment to GNAT and what the union stands for
- A working knowledge in basic computer application in Word Excel and PowerPoint is an advantage
