Meqasa Journalist Intern Wanted
Are you young, energetic and ready for a challenge? Then we are looking for you! We are on the lookout for a passionate journalist to join our media crew. In addition to being a natural storyteller, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct one-one interviews with guests, moderate panel discussions and dig out exclusive stories pertaining to the industry.
To excel in this role, you should be friendly, self-motivated, and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
This is a great opportunity to meet and network with some of the biggest brands and entrepreneurs in the country.
Job title: Journalist Intern
Hours: Full Time; Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; Extra hours may be required
Duration: Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities
- Hosting video programs
- Moderating panel discussions
- Interviewing guests
- Assisting with guest research
- Collect, verify and decipher data
- Create trustworthy relationships with contacts and sources for use in future research
- Keep up-to-date on the latest news developments by attending events, studying different papers, opinion pieces, and social media
- Keep records off all notes, interviews, and audio files
Training and Progression
We are looking for a public face who can educate, entertain and inform audiences by presenting information or entertainment in an accessible and attractive way. The person should be able to easily adapt to fit the nature of the job according to the programmes’ subject matter.
Key Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Good interviewing skills
- The ability to improvise when necessary.
- Research and interviewing skills.
- Calmness under pressure.
- A good memory, for recalling scripts and facts.
- Multi-tasker
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience in a similar role is a bonus
