The Regional Office for Africa is responsible for leading FAO’s response to regional priorities for food security, agriculture and rural development through the identification, planning, and implementation of FAO’s priority activities in the Region.
It also advises on the incorporation of regional priorities into the Organization’s Programme of Work and Budget and implements approved programmes and projects in the Region, monitors the level of programme implementation and draws attention to problems and deficiencies.
This assignment refers to the FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) in Accra, Ghana.
Reporting Lines
The IT Specialist reports to the Regional Information Technology Officer and follows technical standards and procedures established by the FAO Information Technology Division (CIO).
Technical Focus
Responsible for the day-day operations of RAF’s network services and computer Infrastructure. Coordination and provision of the information technology support services for the successful achievement of FAO’s mandate. Quality, transparency and consistency of IT service delivery, requiring in-depth knowledge and interpretation of relevant policies and guidelines in line with established IT procedures and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
