Responsibilities
- Ensure properly care is given to patients
- Ensure aseptic procedures are done accurately
- Ensure protocols for various procedures are duly followed
- Ensure duty roasters are well constructed and run accordingly
- Liase between team and management on consents
- Ensure nursing and midwifery ethics are adhered to
- Ensure patients-midwife relationship are cordial as well as relatives
- Ensure logistics for department are available
- Ensure team are dressed according to professional standards
- Ensure nursing and midwifery tasks are undertaken and demonstrated in the best care and professional standards
- Ensure reports are read and critical cases noted.
- Ensure chart rounds and treatments are administered.
- Ensure nurses and midwives participate in ward rounds
- Ensure nurses and midwives hand over properly
- Design protocols for team

- Ensure nurses and midwifes assist with manual handling and transferring of patients
- Ensure safe and therapeautic patient care environment is adhered to
- Advise management on promotion, prevention, educating patients and their relatives where necessary on diseases.
- Assist ward manager in-charge in promoting the rights of clients and maintaining the privacy and dignity of clients and staff
Required Skills or Experience
- Must be 35 years and above and must have gained at least 8 years experience in Nursing.
