PSG is an Oil Palm and Rubber Plantations company located at Daboase in the Wassa East District of the Western Region.  It is a wholly owned subsidiary of SOCFINAF SA  of Luxembourg and has over 2,000 employees.

Plantations Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) Limited wishes to inform all qualified and interested candidates about a vacant position in its Admin/HR department.  HR SUPERINTENDENT

REPORTS TO: AG.ADMIN/HR MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

To assist in driving organizational efficiency by aligning HR operations with strategic business goals, ensuring policy consistency, and fostering a high-performance culture through proactive industrial relations and standardized administrative frameworks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support HR policy development and implementation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Union executives to maintain industrial harmony and resolve disputes at the shop-floor level.
  • Assists in talent management and succession planning.
  • Manage and facilitate employee counseling around a wide variety of issues.
  • Prepare and analyze relevant HR metrics and provide insights for improvement.
  • Maintain a proactive partnership with the Union and engage in consistent employee communication by identifying and resolving worker concerns at the onset to prevent escalation, while providing regular updates and reports to the Admin/HR Manager.
  • Sits on the Disciplinary Committee, records and prepares reports and letters.
  • Coordinate the annual performance management processes (target setting and evaluations).
  • Support the team in training/sensitizing workers on HR policies and RSPO SOPs
  • Support the Admin/HR Manager on employee engagement and change management activities.
  • Serve as an HR business partner by coordinating with heads of department on HR -related issues.
  • Serve as the School Management Committee Chairman on the Socfinaf D/A Basic School and attend all quarterly meetings.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by your supervisor.

RSPO, HSE, AND ISO RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with all applicable RSPO and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, including policies and plans, as applicable
  • Contribute and promote a positive culture by complying with all safety and environmental management procedures, security protocols, and emergency response measures, and assist in carrying out actions that would mitigate the risk of injury to myself and other employees and damage to plant, equipment, and the environment. 
  • Be aware of the environmental policy, the significant environmental aspects and related actual or potential environmental impacts associated with my work, my contribution to the effectiveness of the environmental management system, and the implications of not conforming with the environmental management system requirements.
  • Always working safely and ensuring that environmental aspects, including but not limited to waste, are managed properly.
  • Take personal responsibility for my safety and the safety of others by adhering to all workplace health, safety, and security requirements. 
  • Ensuring the proper use of company-provided PPE and exercising due care in performing my assigned duties. 
  • Promptly report any injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, or environmental incidents to my supervisor and help identify and correct unsafe acts or behaviors. 
  • Actively participate in toolbox meetings, required training, and cooperate during incident or hazard investigations. 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification & Required Experience

  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Social Science field.
  • Professional qualification in Human Resource Management (CHIRM, PHRi), Minimum six (6) years post-national service qualification in human resource management in Ghana

Technical Competencies

  • Must have good knowledge of HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and standard Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have working knowledge of the Ghana Labour Acts
  • Training design and facilitation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of HR policies and best practices.

Personality Competencies

  • Must possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assertiveness, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills.
  • Must have a good level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills.
