The General Manager (GM) at Subsea 7 is expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Belmet 7 worksites and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
The GM also provides a strong leadership, management and coordination between the Belmet 7 functions and has the Overall responsibility within the Fabrication yards for tendering activities as well as support to the project team during the execution phase.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Enforce the Policy of the Company as defined by the Board of Directors
- Manage and control all departments of the Company including:
- Safety
- Administration and Finance
- Yard fabrication
- Plat
- Services
- Logistics
- Areas Coordinators
- Sales and Marketing
- Engineering Department

Responsible for:
-
- Company results (technical and financial)
- Company safety and security
- Maintaining good relations with local authorities and clients
- Maintaining efficiency
- Control and manage the complete activity of the Company
- Lead in projects estimations (costing and execution)
- Control and manage all budgets
- Forecast investiments to the management
- Forecast fabrication workload of the yeard with the according manpower
- Perform daily inspection of the site and chair the executive committee meetings
- Perform accidents / incidents investigations
- Follow execution and results for evey week for each project
Administration:
-
- Sign all request for local and foreign purchases,
- Sign all movements of personnel and schedules,
- Check and dispatch all mails
- Sign all quotations for local bids or tenders
- Authorize all banking as per ALM.
AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS
- The GM reports to Belmet Board of Directors for all Company matters and to Africa Operations Manager regarding yard activities.
- Reporting to this position are the key personnel such as:
- Fabrication Engineers
- Fabrications Supervisions
- Finance, HR and Admin Manager
- QHSE Manager
- Operate within the Code of Conduct,
- Operate according to the yard management principles.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS/ STAKEHOLDERS
External
- Client and Partners,
- Subcontractors, Suppliers,
- Local Authorities such as Government, Petroleum Commission (PC), Port Authorities.
Internal
- Board of Directors
- All departments included in the process of pre-qualifying and bidding,
- Technical and engineering departments,
- Experts Department to support welding, coating, equipment.
CAPABILITY PROFILE-KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS
- Experience in yard management including all fabrication processes for subsea and topsides
- Experience in estimation relative to fabrications
- Experience in project management
- Engineering degree and subsequent experience
- Capability to work with persons in remote location,
- Team worker,
- Good willingness and reactivity to respond to Clients.
- Fluent in English Language.
WORKING CONDITION
The GM will be carry out the work under the following conditions:
- Work will be based in Belmet 7 yard facilities located in Takoradi, Ghana
- 5 days / 7 assignment on weekly basis
- Standard working hours but occasionally will be excepted to work extended hours to meet critical deadlines.
