Power Sector Analyst
The Power Sector Analyst will be responsible for supporting the programmes technical team and project leadership with a variety of activities including quantitative and qualitative analysis, research, development of presentations and deliverables, and other ad hoc requests.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and research in support of the programmes activities
- Develop presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint to be delivered by program leadership to diverse audiences including regional government officials, and other stakeholders
- Support development of high-quality deliverables and reports including by conducting research, drafting content, visualizing data, and managing the production of deliverables
- Assist with stakeholder consultations and other meetings including scheduling, developing agendas, preparing materials, and taking and distributing meeting notes

Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B.A., B.Eng./B. Tech., etc.)
- Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 6 years cognate experience
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience conducting analytical work within the energy sector in West Africa
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Excellent coordination skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
- Ability to respond on short notice and plan and execute several activities at once
- Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently, and meet deadlines consistently
Environmental Specialist
The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for leading the programmes environmental assessment and stakeholder engagement activities. As directed by the Chief of Party or their designee, the Environmental Specialist shall perform, oversee, and support the performance of the following specific tasks:
Position Responsibilities
- Provide targeted technical assistance to public sector stakeholders, utilities, and project developers to carry out the environmental assessment and stakeholder engagement activities, utilizing Power Africa’s Community Engagement Tool, such as public involvement programs, environmental management plans, resettlement action plans, and benefit sharing mechanisms
- Identify the programmes activities with potential environmental impact, and develop plans to help reduce that impact
- Work with the COP and Outcome Leads to ensure ongoing focus on environmental footprint as well as compliance with environmental monitoring activities related to the programmes work
- Support project activities to create and strengthen relevant policy frameworks at the national level, including stakeholder engagement, environmental assessment and licensing, resettlement, and local community benefit sharing
