CWL is searching for an experienced Laboratory Manager and 3 Analytical Chemists for the analyses of mainly cocoa beans.

Laboratory Manager
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the Pesticide Residue Analyses laboratory and has all the technical experience necessary to supervise the laboratory staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities;
- Manages stocks, sampling, sample reception, milling, extraction, product R&D and formulation, stakeholder relations, safety, quality assurance, implementation of ISO 17025 standards compliance and fulfilment targets in relation to all agricultural commodities sampled and analysed in an accurate manner.
- Oversees and directs the scientific methods and protocols of the laboratory in accordance with good laboratory practices including follow-up on protocol development issues
- Manages, supervises and directs the activities of assigned staff and functions; make recommendations and decisions regarding hiring, discipline, termination or advancement of employees.

- Comprehensive understanding and ability to evaluate new equipment/processes for extraction, as well as upgrades/changes to existing equipment and procedures.
- Analysing of problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences Of proposed actions and implementing recommendations in support of goals.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Science or relevant science-related field, preferred Master's Degree,
- At least 3 years' experience in a managerial
- At least 5 years' experience working in a Lab environment
- Knowledge and experience related to analytical chemistry and I-CMS MS and GCMS MS techniques.
- Preferred experience in setting up and or running a new laboratory
Analytical Chemists
The Analytical Chemists will support analytical method development, validation and analytical activities under ISO 17025 conditions as part Of the CWL Laboratory Services.
The candidate will work closely with other laboratory scientists during the development and testing Of raw cocoa beans and other agricultural commodities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carries out sampling, sample reception storage and coding, milling, extraction, ensures to comply to safety and quality assurance standards, able to work with targets in relation to all agricultural commodities sampled and analysed in an accurate manner.
- Able to work effectively in a team in a quality-oriented laboratory environment to meet company objectives and commitments.
- Able to write qualitative and analytical reports

- Has to use and troubleshoot analytical instruments, especially LCMS MS and adhere to maintenance planning schedules.
Experience and Education
- At least an HND Degree or preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry or related sciences and MUST have 2-5 years lab experience.
- Extensive working knowledge Of LC-MS MS and HPLC techniques, and preferably also GC-MS MS experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant software, ChemStation and LIMS system.
- Wet chemistry experience (extractions techniques, QuEChERS).
- Analytical experience in pesticide analysis in organic and food matrixes. methods and process validation, protocols SOPs, reporting and ISO 17025 standard.
