Head of IT, Accra

The Head of IT is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. Supervisory on the implementation and maintenance of the company’s computing needs.

And will be responsible for supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure requires 30% frequent travels upcountry.

You will bring effective leadership to IT department.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Manage information technology and computer systems
• Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
• Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes

• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
• Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
• Running and sharing regular operation system reports with senior staff
• Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
• Identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement.

Qualifications And Skills                                       

• At least a Bachelors degree in any field with emphasis on Information Technology, Computer Science and other related disciplines. Possession of a Master’s will be an advantage; or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a senior IT position;
• Must demonstrate experience with a wide variety of business software and have a proven track record of creative solution delivery and delivery on business needs;
• Must demonstrate a good understanding of network infrastructure technologies, inclusive of security solutions, for example, anti-SPAM and anti-virus technologies;
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills both in written and verbal form;
• Must be an enthusiastic problem solver and have advanced critical and strategic thinking skills

  • Excellent people management abilities
