JOB TITLE: SENIOR CLERK/STENOGRAPHER

DUTIES

  • Open, sort out mails and file
  • Stamp and register letters (both in-coming and outgoing)
  • Draft routine correspondence
  • Dispense first Aid Drugs and issue hospital cards
  • Provide files on request
  • Type letters, reports and other documents
  • Operate photocopier machine
  • Keep various record books
  • Make photocopies of various documents

  • Make entry of data into computer
  • Compile monthly staff returns, as well as Technical reports for onward submission to the Regional Office
  • Process staff appraisal forms and submit to the Regional Office
  • Handle all correspondences and paper work as well as keep confidential records

SKILLS

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good analytical skills

 

QUALIFICATION

The minimum qualification for appointment to this grade shall be:

  • Four (4) credits at the GCE O' Level,including Core English or five (5) subjects at Senior Secondary School Examination (SSSCE), including core English, plus a Stenographer/Senior Typist Certificate awarded by Government Secretarial School (GSS) or National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) or Nationai Co ordination Committee for Technical Vocational Education and Training (NACVET)
  • Three (3) years relevant work experience shall be an added advantage
