Job Description
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – CONSULTANCY FOR BASELINE SURVEY INTRODUCTION Background/Rationale CARE International in Ghana in collaboration with Olam Ghana Limited is implementing a four-year project funded by the United States Department of Labor/Bureau of International Labor Affairs (USDOL/ILAB), named Adwuma Pa. CARE will implement the project with two Sub-Grantees; Youth Empowerment Synergy - Ghana (YES-Ghana) and Child Rights International (CRI). The Adwuma Pa Project is aimed at empowering vulnerable women 18 years and above and girls 15-17 years old in the cocoa supply chain in Ghana. The project operates in four municipalities/districts, namely: Tano South and Asunafo North in the Ahafo Region, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa in the Central Region, and Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai in the Western North Region. The project covers 80 communities and targets 5000 (2500 girls 15 – 17 and 2500 women 18+) as direct participants, as well as an estimated 15,000 indirect beneficiaries. Project activities focus on economic participation of vulnerable women and girls and improved business practices by private sector actors to protect the vulnerable women and girls against child labor, forced labor and other labor violations. As part of the measures to reduce the risk of child labor, forced labor and other violations of labor rights for these vulnerable women and girls, the project aims at integrating gender equality and equity into all of the project activities. The overall goal of the Adwuma Pa Project is to reduce the risk of child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights for vulnerable women and girls working within Ghana’s cocoa supply chain. The project has two outcomes namely: Outcome 1: Improved economic participation of women and girls vulnerable to child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights within Ghana’s cocoa supply chain Outcome 2: Improved business practices by private sector actors to protect against child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights for vulnerable women and girls working within a supply chain
