The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. established by an Act of Parliament. Act 588 of 2000, as the sole agency in Ghana responsible for all matters relating to peaceful uses Of atomic energy, invites applications for the following
CIVIL / GEOLOGICAL ENGINEER
The Civil/GeoIogical Engineer is an Officer employed by the Commission and charged with the responsibility of undertaking technical and scientific analysis of rock, soil, groundwater and other conditions to determine the likely impact that major construction developments will have on sites.
Minimum Qualifications/work experience
- Must possess a Master's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Geological, Earthquake Engineering or Engineering Seismology.
- Must possess a strong background in site engineering development.
- Must possess a good understanding Of site probabilistic assessment procedures and knowledge of nuclear power-related design aspects will be a benefit.
- Must have five (5) years minimum post-qualification exoerience

Duties/Key responsibilities
- Collect, analyse and interpret data
- Access, use and analyse site information (such as radar images, aerial photographs, reports and geological maps) prior to site investigations
- Plan, organise and undertake field work/site investigations and prepare reports
- Provide advice and information to clients on a range of issues, including, for example, proposed use, subsidence and construction materials
- Assess and minimise the risks of man-made and natural hazards in the environment
- Ensuring that projects keep to budgets and timescales
- Manage and liaise with construction engineers, consultants, contractors and geotechnical engineers
