Position: Lead Specialist, Product & Services Development & Special Projects
Level: MTN Level 3H
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

Job Summary:

Responsible for researching and identifying the needs and desires of customers for company benefit, a positive impact on the bottom line and overall customer experience from a specialist perspective. This role will liaise very closely with multidiscplined teams and functions

Job Role Key Tasks:

Specialist support towards Strategic Commercial Initiatives

•   Provide specialist input towards strategic plans for commercial across various business lines (these could include portfolio rationalization, portfolio expansion opportunity mapping etc.), translated into executable plans to drive business growth in a sustainable manner.
•   Provide specialist input for identifying business needs and future strategic initiatives to grow the business, founded on market insights and trends and supported by customer behaviour trends, research (surveys and focus groups etc.).
•   Provide specialist input for developing best practice frameworks for product lifecycle management and continuing management of existing portfolio.
•   Provide thought leadership on best practices related to commercial execution, impact measurement, segmentation methodologies, customer profiling and predictive modelling.
•   Support the development of customer-centric business and loyalty marketing strategies and analyses.
•   Provide Leadership on the transfer of knowledge in areas of specialization across the business.

Business Analytics

•   Support senior management to understand business trends and insights after conducting deep dives on impact of products and various initiatives launched.
•   Provide technical knowledge and guidance on analytics, consumer understanding/insights and proactive analysis.
•   Provide analytical and technical guidance in specialist area during projects.

•   Provide meaningful consumer reports to other business divisions and departments using scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured business data.
•   Perform complex analysis and modelling for multiple products with the goal of maximizing profits and asset growth and minimizing risk.
Other
•   Support the development of a future pipeline of potential products and services in areas of critical growth and opportunity
•   Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners and suppliers.

Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks:

•   Matrix relationships depending on project being worked on.
•   Specialist role in nature and will be required to provide expertise across the entire organization and senior leadership in area of specialization

Qualification Required & Experience

Education:

•   First degree in Computer science, Social sciences, Physical sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related discipline
•   Programming language and systems knowledge that enable big data querying an advantage
•   Post graduate qualification in related discipline an advantage

Experience:

8 years’ work experience which includes:

•   Relevant sector/ industry
•   Experience working in emerging markets advantageous
•   Proven experience in area of specialization
