Governance is one of the focal areas of Germany’s development cooperation portfolio in Ghana. GIZ implements two Governance programmes, Good Financial Governance (GFG) and the Support for Decentralisation Reforms (SfDR) Programme to support the Government of Ghana to implement its national development strategy. GFG supports reforms in the areas of tax administration and tax policy, public financial management, domestic accountability and resource governance. Its main partners are the Ministry of Finance, the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Ghana Audit Service, and the Parliamentary Accounts and Finance Committees. SfDR supports the implementation of decentralisation reforms at the local level by strengthening the districts’ institutional capacities for revenue management, budgeting and integrated district planning, by improving cooperation between the key actors of the decentralisation process and by improving data-based development planning for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Its main partners are the Ministry of Local Governance and Rural Development, the National Development Planning Commission, ten Regional Coordination Councils, 60 District Assemblies and various civil society organisations. For our operations in Ghana/Accra, we are looking for dynamic people to integrate temporarily in our Governance team and contribute to our above-mentioned goals.
