--> FOCOS mission is to provide comprehensive, affordable orthopaedic care to those who would not otherwise have access to such treatment. In particular, FOCOS seeks to enhance access to optimal surgical and non-surgical care for patients with disabling musculoskeletal disorders including complex spine deformities and pediatric orthopaedic problems in underserved regions. It began as a dream of the founder to see the best care reach the underserved in his native country, Ghana and the sub-Saharan region.
Summary Responsibilities:
Fund Raising Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Board of Directors and Executive Management to create a fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization
- Develops and manages timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fund raising processes are carried out in a timely manner
- Establishes and implements a wide range of advancement policies and procedures for individual donors, contributing members, corporations, and foundations
- Responsible for identifying and establishing potential sponsors and settling on the appropriate targets for funding for patients
- Manages and maintains the established relationships of FOCOS with corporate/ individual sponsors
- Establishes contacts with other organization personnel, approaches individuals, corporate and foundation officials and negotiates the terms of their support to FOCOS
- Fosters an understanding of philanthropy within the organization
- Develops a comprehensive communication plan to promote the organization to donors and maximize public awareness of the fundraising activities of the organization
