Take charge at a pivotal junction in our client's evolution. Over more than 25 years, this housing developer has established itself firmly as a market leader in West Africa. They provide a wide range of residential & hospitality products for both sale and investment purposes; not only developing and constructing, but also managing various units and complexes in and around Accra. Having successfully delivered more than 3,000 units across 11 projects, they are looking to capitalise on their success by appointing a CEO who is able to maximise the combined efforts of the group. Privately owned, only one board member is operationally hands on daily.
With his wide range of local and international business contacts, his natural focus is new business. They are looking to appoint an inspirational leader who can assist the board in setting strategic goals and put procedures into place to track their progress. Working through marketing, development, finance, construction and operations, you will give direction to your team to ensure the best products are delivered at the lowest cost, targeting the correct consumer at the optimal price.
With so many departments relying on you to set clear objectives, you must be someone who is able to build alliances and partnerships with internal and external partners. As the leader of a large organisation, your ability to oversee the company's fiscal activity & day-to-day operations, and have the foresight to protect the group from liabilities. Extensive experience in housing development will be key in your success in this role, which will see you interacting with banks, investors, professional consultants, political leaders and staff alike.
It will therefore require someone who is emotionally intelligent, and has an excellent grasp of the 'moving parts' in property development which create sustainable products with exceptional yields. This role will suit someone with a real estate development, construction or finance related degree, with a business-related post graduate degree. It is open to people who have worked in more than one territory, and who display clear leadership experience within a development and fund environment. Whilst experience in Africa would be preferred, emerging markets experience is an absolute must.
