Project Purpose/Objective
To promote shea exports for cosmetics in regional and international markets, and the uptake of standards for cosmetology, thereby contributing to sustainable economic development, job creation and poverty reduction in Africa , the purpose of the support programme is two-fold: (1) Provision of support for trade enhancement and export-readiness for women-led small cosmetics producers and exporters in West Africa; (2) The promotion of harmonised standards to mainstream cosmetology into the formal sector in Africa. The assignment will be undertaken with two key experts and two non-key experts (based in Ghana and in Kenya).

Responsibilities
The Non-Key Expert will review and draft the key documents indicated in these terms of reference. He/she will also liaise with key stakeholders for this purpose. The NKE will be required to assist both Key Experts during the workshops, organise the video production in collaboration with the Key Experts and assist to format all material for publication/training.
Qualifications and skills
- At least a degree in Marketing, Communication, International Trade, or a relevant, related discipline, or three (3) years of experience beyond the general professional experience;
- Good command of English and French (at least level 2 on a scale from 1(excellent) to 5 (basic) as per the EU-CV format).
General Professional experience
- At least three (3) years of professional experience in international or national institutions would be an advantage;
- At least three (3) years of professional experience working experience in West or East Africa or in the COMESA or ECOWAS regions will be considered an asset.
Specific Experience
- Four (4) years working in marketing, and communication;
- Two (2) years of professional experience in implementing projects involving gender and youth entrepreneurs and their role in the trading environment is desirable;
- Three (3) years of professional experience in providing training in marketing or communication skills.
