AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as HOUSING CLERK.

ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

To provide administrative and field support services to the Housing Officer necessary for effective management and administration of the Housing Estates, the 80-Man Camp, the 15-man Camp and the Guest Houses.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintain up-to-date records  and database of company housing units
  • Provide administrative support in the allocation of housing units to new recruits in line with policy and procedure
  • Carry out field visits to the Housing Estates to identify deviations to Occupancy Rules and Regulations and enforce compliance of same.
  • Accountable for the up keep of the Guest Houses
  • Co-coordinating and monitoring maintenance status of housing units
  • Serve as the interface between the 15-Man Camp, 80-Man Camp, the Guest Houses and Lodge and the HR Department by paying daily visit to the Camp Units and reporting back to the Housing Officers on concerns raised for prompt resolution.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with Internal Stakeholders (Sectional Heads, Mine Management Team, Departmental Team Members, etc.) and external Stakeholders (Regulatory Agencies and Authorities)

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Qualification

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in the humanities

 
Experience 

  • Not less than 2 years’ experience in related role.


Technical Competencies

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and to make decisions in a manner consistent with established Company policy and Labour laws
  • Ability to identify opportunities, diagnose problems and develop solutions
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in the use of MicroSoft Excel and PowerPoint Applications
  • Ability to identify opportunities, diagnose problems and develop solutions

  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to build and maintain effective collateral and cross functional working relationship
