AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Construction Miner.
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
The purpose of the role is for the holder to safely follow all procedures to carry out maintenance and installations of underground infrastructures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure Workplace safety – Conduct all constructional works in a safe and conducive atmosphere to promote good health, safety and higher productivity
- Build good relationship and engagement practices with team members – Contribute to work discussions with team members, during infrastructural dismantling, restoration works and all constructional works to promote safe and speedy processes
- Infrastructure Installations – Construct bulkhead and fan walls in accordance with standards to eliminate wall failure and property damages
- Practice good housekeeping – Ensure that all equipment, and constructional sites are well kept
- Material management – Ensure that all materials are shrewdly used in order to reduce cost
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification
- Basic Education
- Certificate of Masonry/Carpentry from a recognized institution
Experience
- 5 years’ experience in Construction and Maintenance of infrastructures
