AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Explosive Supervisor.
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
The purpose of the role is a mandatory requirement to effectively manage explosives underground in accordance with the Mining regulations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure Workplace safety – Monitor explosive consumptions and prompt supervisors for its safe usage and also ensure records of all pertinent explosive transactions are properly recorded to prevent explosive theft
- Improve productivity – Attends daily morning production meetings and ensure planned scheduled explosives consumption requirement are placed at the scheduled time
- Explosive reporting – Periodically submit report on all activities of explosives ordered, receipt, transported, distribution, and stocks underground in accordance to the Mining regulations
- Explosive Management – Communicate with team member for them to understand the implications of explosive wastages and its effects on the mine profitability margins.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification
- BSc. degree / Diploma in Mining Engineering
Experience
- 4 years post-graduation experience in underground development, and open stope mining
Legal Requirement
- Shift Boss certificate of competency
