Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
• Experience of tanker operations, small boat handling and experience as operator in an offshore environment preferred.
• Minimum 5 years offshore/ sea going experience.
• Previous FPSO experience preferred.
• Certified in accordance with STCW Convention. Qualified Coxswain for handling the workboat. Other relevant trade qualification such as offshore crane driver, rigger, dogman, scaffold erection and fast rescue craft operation preferred.
• Training requirements for the position are as set out in the Safety Training Requirements for Offshore Personnel.
• Previous experience working offshore desired
• Strong stakeholder appreciation essential. 
• Experience in providing on-the-job training or mentoring more junior peers highly desired. 
• Experience of working with Localisation Training programs highly desired.
• Diplomatic – able to work with various players to achieve objectives. 
• Experience of working in remote locations desired.
• Good attitude to work.
• A strong Team Player.
• Flexible/adaptive to change.
• Fluent in oral and written English

Job Overview:

A global supplier and operator of offshore floating platforms seek a Deck Supervisor to work on their offshore Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel on a rotational basis in West Africa. You will organises and supervise deck work and maintenance, supervise deck crew, maintain inventory and ensure HSE is maintained throughout. Applicants are invited with a minimum of 5 years offshore/ sea going experience, offshore certifications (see below) and preferably some experience working on a FPSO vessel. The Company has been in operation for many decades and are well established as a leading provider of floating solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry. They offer a range of vessels such as FPSO’s, FSO’S and FLNG and much more. They have an enviable reputation for EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) services as well as charter and operations projects. They operate globally and have offices in many countries. 

Responsibilities:

This role encompasses many functions including:

• Supervises all lifting and rigging operations on the facility.
• Maintains inventory of all loose lifting gear and issue for use to the Facility personnel in accordance with the job scope under the PTW System. Maintains the rigging equipment register as part of the rigging loft.
• Ensures the correct operation, inspection and maintenance of cranes, maintaining records of inspection and reporting any deficiencies to the Services Supervisor/ Superintendent.
• Organises and supervises deck work, maintenance and ensures that planned deck work is carried out as instructed.
• Maintains an inventory of paints, ropes, tools, maintenance equipment and accessories, reports any deficiencies or requirements to Services Supervisor/ Superintendent.
• Ensures all tools and equipment is maintained in good order and are free from any defects.
• Maintains communication with other departments regarding work priorities and operational requirements so as to minimise delay.
• Ensures that all personnel in the deck crew carry out their work in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ensures that all tank work is carried out in a safe and professional manner.
• Ensures that the FPSO Waste Management Policy is followed.
• Assists with all aspects of cargo handling i.e. assisting in loading/discharging of crude oil including safety watch keeping during offloading operations, crude oil washing, tank cleaning and the associated maintenance of cargo equipment. 
• Liaises with the Services Supervisor and supervises the deck crew in the following:
• Corrosion control including needle gunning, sand and water blasting, spray painting etc.
• Tank operations including tank entry, cleaning, removal of scale, valves, pipework etc.
• Pumproom work including removal/installation of valves, blanks, pumps repairs, overhauls. 
• Process Plant including assisting with repairs and maintenance as required. 
• Controls helideck operation in the capacity of Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO).
• Carries out all workboat, mooring operations and other tasks associated with offtake tanker operations including floating hose assembly, disassembly and testing.
• Controls the operation of the work boat and its crew in his/her capacity of coxswain.
• Be part of the fast rescue craft team either in the boat or FPSO deployment team as directed by the Services Supervisor.
• Erects and dismantles scaffolding as required, if qualified to do so.
• Operate the cranes as required, being qualified to do so.
• Familiarise yourself with Company HSEQ policies and understand designated emergency response duties.
• Safeguards the welfare of all fellow crewmembers at all times, and to attend safety meetings when required.

This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary.

In addition: 

• Offshore / Hardship allowances may be considered. 
• Transportation as necessary and required. 
• Alternatively, a transportation allowance may be provided. 
• 15 days paid leave and public holidays.
• International Medical Cover.

? The Company will provide accommodations 
? Foreign Service Premium may be considered.
? You will be entitled to 1 trip for every 3 months service. This will include an economy flight plus 7 calendar day home leave (including weekend and public holiday but excluding travel day) to visit your home country or to travel outside of designated country. 
? Once a year, someone can accompany you - economy flight paid.
? A small relocation allowance may be offered. 
? The Company will organise all aspects of mobilisation/ demobilisation 
? The Company will organise work permits.

This is an offshore rotational position and as such:

• You will work 28 days on and 28 days off.
• You will be a permanent employee working effectively for half the year 
• You will be paid monthly and the salary will reflect the work schedule
