Finance Officer - Accra

Position Summary

Provide accounting and financial support for USAID/partnership for Education: Learning project in Learning office and perform diversified accounts payable functions in accordance with FHI 360 policy, USAID and other donor rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and maintain accurate payment procedures whiles determining propriety and accuracy of all expenditures
• Coordinate issuing of travel advance and travel expenses
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely payments
• Review and analyze pending expenditures for appropriate action
• Manage petty cash system
• Prepare bank reconciliation
• Pay training participants using mobile money systems
• Sometimes perform finance site visits of local partners
• Ensure smooth and timely flow of all expenditures related to reports and audit documentations

Minimum Requirement

• A degree in Accounting or Finance or a part professional qualification (ACCA/ICA/CIMA/CPA) or related field
• Relevant work experience in accounting and finance preferably in the development sector
• Experience in a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) — local or International may be an advantage.
• Knowledge of basic accounting including General Ledger and office procedures
• Familiarity with bulk payments using mobile money systems will be an advantage
• Ability to Prepare & Interpret financial information and reports
