The Environmental Inspector reports to the AECOM Environmental Manager and will support all the environmental related activities Marine, Land and Building Contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Environmental Inspector (EI) is responsible for environmental monitoring issues on site and will also be coordinating all Environmental inspections of the works. His duties will include, but will not be limited to, taking particular responsibility for:

Supporting administration of the Environmental Inspection Request and process ensuring requests are processed and inspections properly documented within pre-defined timescales

Overseeing contractors’ implementation of environmental conditions and mitigation measures as set forth in Environmental Monitoring Plans of the respective Principal Contractors.

Reviewing all contractor-initiated documentations (i.e. of the 3 Principal Contractors) and forwarding them to the Environmental Manager;

Undertaking environmental inspections of works on site and issue corrective action reports. Providing on-site support to all other members of the construction supervision team in developing and maintaining a proactive environment culture and incorporate environment observations into daily works inspection activity

Ensuring regular checking of calibration, accuracy and operation of environmental testing equipment on site

Keeping a daily diary to record important events and attending weekly environment site meetings Follow up/Inspect Principal Contractors’ environmental monitoring activities and complete the necessary forms after the inspections

Preparing and verifying the accuracy of periodic (weekly, monthly) and ad hoc reports including photo documentation, and submitting to the Environmental Manager for processing;.

Minimum Requirements
-
Experience working for a consultant is required (3 years minimum)

Experience in Marine Construction and /or site investigation is an advantage

Experience working for a contractor is an advantage
Additional Comments:
- Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications

Accredited Qualification and Environmental Works experience

Computer literate
