Brevan is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer (FPSO) to work with our client based in Ghana overseeing two operational FPSO’s.

Overall Job Purpose

  • Support the FPSO operational teams as requested in areas of own specialty, including drafting working procedures, maintenance programs, and providing associated logistic support. As instructed, develops maintenance methods tools in own area of competence, analyses the works and practices, and suggests ways of optimisation.
  • Provide day to day maintenance support for electrical offshore equipment issues. This will include resolving problems and making improvements, assist in work planning and management of electric equipment work scopes through the maintenance management system and interfacing between offshore / offshore teams and vendors.
  • Take ownership of issues and ensures effective solutions are identified, successfully implemented and closed out.
  • Liaise and coordinate work activities with other discipline engineers to achieve deadlines and target objectives as required for the operations team.
  • Liaise with vendors to provide deliverables applicable to the change request.
  • Complete all work activities in accordance with the companies Ghana standards, procedures and specifications, as well as any applicable local government regulatory requirements as identified by the country of Ghana.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide Electrical Engineering support to achieve and maintain the technical and performance integrity of the FPSO Facility.
  • Ensure the technical and operational integrity of all electrical offshore oil and gas equipment including (but not limited to); LV Motors, HV Motors, switchgear, alternators, Ex/HAEE Equipment (maintaining certification), electrical protection equipment, UPS and battery systems
  • Provide assistance and logistic support as required for the provision of resources: vendors, additional manpower, services, tools, spare parts, consumables and other materials. Coordinate the transfer offshore of these resources. Coordinates as required the repairs required to be subcontracted outside
  • Provide electrical engineering support to the FPSO technicians, engineers and managers.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical safety acts, regulations, standards and international codes
    Management and coordination of all project processes from budget preparation, financial approvals, schedule and cost estimates, risk and quality management, project execution and closure
  • Resource planning for current and future projects
  • Identify, review, and approve any QA/QC requirements for the Facility’s equipment and packages that relate to the electrical components of all management of change engineering change request work scopes.
  • Review the requests for materials, defines the technical specifications for purchase for Electrical O&M requirements 
  • Identify, develop, and complete Management of Change, Engineering Change Requests including Engineering assessments with respect to all electrical & power control engineering related systems and equipment. This includes the design and engineering standards and specifications review and development.
  • Proposed change mark-ups, electrical equipment sizing, engineering proposals & calculations as required for project approval
  • Complete ongoing monitoring of the facility electrical equipment and systems.
  • Assist in developing critical spares holdings for all electrical equipment
  • Direct technicians and contractors to ensure Companies Ghana Limited objectives and targets are met with regard to budget, safety, risk, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Engage external fabrication and local service providers, within the assigned authority levels.
