AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as HOUSING OFFICER.
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
The Housing Officer is accountable for administering housing allocations, collating & updating data on housing properties and enforcing compliance with tenancy rules and regulations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain up-to-date records and database of company housing units
- Timely allocation of housing units to new recruits in line with policy and procedure
- Timely allocation of housing units to newly recruited employees
- Draw up Occupancy Rules and Regulations and enforce compliance of same.
- Ensure every occupant has signed up to Occupancy Agreements
- Ensure practices within the housing units are aligned to the Occupancy Rules and Regulations
- Accountable for the up keep of the Guest Houses
- Ensure Guest Houses are properly kept and sanitary condition in good order
- Co-ordinate and monitor maintenance status of housing units
- Make sure all company properties and housing units are in good condition
- Nurture and sustain a culture of Accountability and continuous improvement within the Housing Section of the HR Department
- Evidence of improved productivity across the Section

- A subject matter expertise “pool” to leverage HR technical excellence throughout the Mine
- Abreast with statutory regulations
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualification in social sciences
Experience
- Not less than 2 years’ experience in related role
Technical Competencies
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and to make decisions in a manner consistent with established Company policy and Labour laws
- Ability to identify opportunities, diagnose problems and develop solutions
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in the use of MicroSoft Excel and PowerPoint Applications
