A career in Information Technology, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to support our core business functions by deploying applications that enable our people to work more efficiently and deliver the highest levels of service to our clients. You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth.
Our Information Technology Development team helps develop and supports internal information technology systems and applications for use by all staff levels. You’ll help our team develop programmes and applications that cater to PwC’s strategic technology needs using your knowledge of technical domains of application.
Responsibilities
Job Purpose
We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and versatile individual with great ideas and a desire to solve problems, seize opportunities and develop solutions in a dynamic fast-paced environment. As a software engineer, you may work solo, or in a small team, switching teams and projects as required by our business.
You will be working with a dynamic team of individuals mainly within the Data Platform stream and will be given the opportunity to practically learn cutting edge Business Intelligence tools for end to end Business Intelligence Solutions Development for our different lines of services. You will be making a meaningful contribution to assist the firm understand their data and for systems to communicate through Database Development, Data transformation, Data Modelling , Integration Development and report development.
Principal Accountabilities
- Learning and adhering to the development process and standards under guidance from senior developers
- Creating supporting documentation (Technical design, Test Plans, Implementation plans) for relatively small code changes
- Develop part of an application/process with direction from senior resource based on a technical specification.
- Proactively learning the necessary skills in their development area (coding skills, certification, coding best practices).
- Proactively upwards communication regarding issues, bugs and problems.
- Learning to support QlikView Models
- Modify existing Data Warehouse structure (SQL Server) to incorporate data from different data sources with guidance from a senior resource
- Develop, design, implement, enhance, maintain and analyse database systems, queries, and procedures in SQL Server environment
- Work in an AGILE environment and participate in daily SCRUM feedback sessions.
- Design solutions to problems by following System Analysis and Design methodologies.
- Monitor Business Intelligence processes for failures
- Learn and apply Power BI Development for Front End Reporting
Minimum Qualifications
- Three year IT Related Degree
- Relevant MCSA/MCSE certification highly advantageous.
Experience
The candidate must have completed a data related course(s) to demonstrate interest in the Data Platform stream, with 0-2 years experience.
