Lincoln Community School is one of the leading American International Schools in Africa and currently serves a population of 760 students from over 66 different nationalities.
The School is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Custodian / Handyman who will clean and assist with setting up for various school events and meetings.
The Custodian will also be required to undertake handy man responsibilities as and when required and assist other school maintenance workers in their day to day duties.
Other duties of the Custodian include:
- Arrangement of furniture, equipment and other accessories for Set-Ups for formal functions
- Allocation/distribution of and keeping records on sanitary materials for use in the washrooms.
- Records keeping on the stocks of sanitary materials, paper cups, items for set ups.
- Requisitions for sanitary material, paper cups and items for set ups.
- Assists in verification of sanitary materials purchased/supplied.
- Portage of new and used furniture, equipment and other items
- Assist staff in moving to new residences and offices
- Cleaning of premises during furnishing
- Minor painting works
- Inspections to determine masonry and minor construction works required
- Repairs/replacements to correct to minor defects, damages, etc. to blockwall fencing, pavements, kerbs, road, damaged inspection chambers, septic tanks, pot holes filling, and surface dressing and cement works, etc.
- Minor construction works including construction of reinforced concrete slabs, platforms, steel bending, etc.
- Estimation of material and labour requirement for minor works
- Janitorial/custodial services and any other works as may be assigned by superiors
Required Skills or Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and experience:
Qualifications:
- Educated to SSS level or Equivalent
- Should be able to read and write
Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years’ work experience as a custodian or in a similar role
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working as a handyman
- Experience of lifting equipment and furniture
- Experience of using various cleaning equipment
