Job Description
Assist the terminal manager in overseeing all operational activities in the yard. This includes supervising the yard team in its daily operations which primarily consists of the following functions;
• Supervise two (2) ISO tank washing bay operations.
• Supervise trucking fleet, terminal equipment, mechanical workshop and related activities such as (planned) maintenance and repairs.
• Supervise container terminal operations and handling.
• Facilitate and further develop SOPs, appropriate and concise reporting to Terminal Manager.
Responsibilities and duties:
• Prepare and submit weekly planning of all operational activities to the Terminal Manager for discussion and review and follow up with concise reporting thereof.
• Assist the transport team whenever there’s an evacuation exercise and provide detailed report to the General Manager.
• Fully responsible for terminal rules, HSE and housekeeping adherence in the terminal.
• Create and implement SOPs related to operations scope of work. Get final approval from your superior before implementation.
• Cross check prepared monthly reports with the senior yard supervisor before forwarding to the General Manager.
• Liaise with the Transport Supervisor, in planning and organizing truck schedule for evacuation during day and night.
• Keep records of all operational malfunctions.
• Assist, organize and train the washing station team to maintain cleaning standards.
• Supervise all container and tanks physical checks on arrival. Take pictures of all damages (dents & stains inclusive) found on tanks/containers.
• Conduct final checks after tanks are been washed.
• Cross check cleaning certificates for washed tanks.
• Take stock of food grade and non-food grade containers and send a report on that.
• Organize and supervise repairs for damage tanks per approval.
• Review of terminal reports.
• Communication/responding to clients.
• Executing cost control of all yard expenditure on machinery and yard repairs.
• Strictly monitor activities of the terminal. Being all gate In and Out of tanks, containers and other client assets.
• Monitor the use of the machines as well as report all related problems.
• Other ad-hoc tasks.
Required Skills / Experience
• HND/Degree in Logistics/Operations Management
• Knowledge in Operational Management
Years of Experience : 2 - 3 Years
Competencies
• Knowledge of MS-Windows, MS-Excel (affinity with Excel and reporting is a must; experience should be proven), MS-Word, MS-Outlook.
• Pro-active, self-starting, hands-on.
•Ready to deliver attitude.
•Process and results oriented.
•Good supervisory/people/leadership skills.
•Ability to work under pressure.
•Conscientious in his/her work
