Role purpose:
Be responsible for the architecture, design and delivery of fixed access networks and services in adherence to relevant standards and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assures the current and future integrity of the fixed access network by:
- Defining and implementing solutions that aligns with best practice and future strategy.
- Ensuring internal and external suppliers, partners and customers are aware of best practice and future strategy and adhere to it.
- Review others work (e.g. Solutions Development and Operations teams) to ensure they are in line with best practice and future strategy.
- Recommends and drives improvement actions in line with Vodafone’s continuous improvement techniques.
- Escalation point for difficulties in fault resolution and problem solving by operational staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- University degree in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Professional certificate in Project Management (desirable)
- Excellent IT skills: advanced skills in MS Office suite including MS Visio
- In-depth knowledge of fixed access technologies including but not limited to:
- Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON)
- Multi-Service Access Nodes (MSANs)
- Access transmission solutions for Radio Access Networks (RAN)
- Broadband Remote Access Servers (BRAS)
- Experience of network and service planning, architecture, design, integration, acceptance test procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
