The job holder (Security Coordinator) will play an integral role in the delivery of security strategy to reduce risk and respond effectively to emerging threats. The job holder will provide hands on day to day supervision and guidance to the security guard force, ensuring the effective delivery of manned guarding services to the highest standards at all times. The job holder will also provide out of normal hours assistance during times of increased threat or incident management, coordinating security resources and managing emergency response in order to ensure the safety and protection of critical assets.

Security Coordinator duties and responsibilities:
- To be the main point of contact for the company, taking a leading role prospecting and marketing our manned guarding services to potential clients.
- Ensure and oversee the recruitment, selection and placement of security guards.
- Plan and execute security strategy that aligns with the company’s vision.
- Provide hands on, day to day leadership, supervision and direction to a large security guard force.
- Ensure security policy is adhered to and the operational effectiveness of all procedural, physical and technical measures is maintained at all times.
- Ensure all security records is administered effectively.
- Provide an out of hours response to security resources and management of any emergency response.
- Administer all necessary paperwork, to allow timely and accurate financial forecasting on behalf of the contracted guards and company.
- Develop and deliver training to the contracted security guards to improve personal standards and ensure a robust effective and coordinated response to incidents.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of security equipments, ensuring all equipments are in a satisfactory working order.

Required Skills or Experience
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Atleast three (3) years’ experience supervising or managing a large security guard force or five years’ experience of providing manned guard services within a sensitive operating environment.
- Military, Police or commercial security background is a plus.
- A minimum of a Masters Degree in any discipline is required.
- Exceptional leadership skills and ability to command respect.
- Able to think innovatively and prepared to make decisions.
- Must have a good knowledge in security management
- Able to write reports and on time.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus.
- Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player.
- Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills, with good attention to details.
- Resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard with a tight deadline.
- Good knowledge of access control, event security and incident response, in addition to a range of manned guarding duties.
