American International School (AIS) is a community of Pre-School-12th grade learners in the heart of Western Africa. In response to the growing group of expatriates living in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, NICS opened AIS. The school was founded in 2006, and has experienced steady growth since then. Accra, the seat of the Ghanaian State, is today a melting pot of several Ghanaian and other foreign cultures. It is home to virtually anyone who identifies himself or herself with the city. That, in itself, is the bottom-line of traditional Ghanaian heritage. The population of the Ghanaian State is relatively small. But today the whole city is filled with people from all walks of life. The city of Accra has been Ghana's capital since 1877, and contains fine public buildings reflecting its transition from a 19th century suburb of Victoriaburg to the modern metropolis it is today.

AIS stresses academic and spiritual excellence and seeks to integrate a biblical worldview throughout its Pre-School thru grade twelve educational setting. Its academic program is based on the U.S. curricular model with modifications in place to address the needs of its international population.
