The Position
The Finance Officer is the Head of the Finance Office and shall be responsible, under the Vice-Chancellor, for the financial administration of the University
Qualification Required & Experience
The Person
• Must be a distinguished professional with capacity to motivate, manage and direct staff
• Must be circumspect and above reproach
• Must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills and high level of computer literacy
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be a member of a recognised professional Accountancy/Auditing Body (ICA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA, etc). A Master’s Degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance would be an advantage
• Must have served in a University or analogous institution for at least 10 years
OR
• A minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in a reputable and recognised practicing firm, industry, commerce and or public service

Terms of Appointment
• The Appointment shall be full time and a contract of 4 years in a first instance and subject to renewal based on performance
