Job Title: HEAD, ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT
Role:
- To manage the financial and accounting activities of the Microfinance Company to achieve its management and financial goals
- He/She shall be a member of management team of the Bank and shall report directly to the Managing Director
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare annual budgets, final draft financial accounts (in accordance with IFRS) as well as tax and other regulatory reporting requirements in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain standards financial and accounting systems and procedures
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of accurate weekly/monthly/annual prudential reports to Bank of Ghana through the Managing Director
- Supervise and manage payroll processing and tax filing activities
- Ensure effective and efficient operational processes to reduce overall cost of operations
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly management accounts to the Board of Directors through the Managing Director
- Ensure effective and efficient treasury management of the Microfinance Company
- Provide support to the Marketing and Operational teams in product design, analysis, development and delivery.
- Ensure the registry and update of all assets of the Microfinance Company in all its branches.
- Evaluating business strategies/performance through planning, forecasting and budgeting with advance analysis of financial data and profitability.
Qualification Required & Experience
- First Degree in Accounting or Finance and professional qualification with CA, ACCA, or CIMA. A second degree (MBA) will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in accounting with at least 3 years Managerial role in banking – preferably Rural banking, Savings and Loans or Microfinance will be an added advantage.
