Shelter Crest is a growing Ghanaian FinTech company focused on PropTech and consumer finance. We provide flexible monthly payment solutions for rent, furniture, building materials, bikes, Property Management and school fees.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Recovery/Verification Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for visiting applicant locations, verifying their details, recording property information, and following up with customers who have missed their monthly payments. This role is critical to protecting the company's assets and maintaining healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
Verification:
- Visit applicant locations to confirm their residential or business address.
- Record and submit accurate property details, including description, condition, and location.
- Take photographs of the property and surrounding area for documentation.
- Confirm landlord details and rent information where applicable.
- Submit daily and weekly verification reports to management.

Recovery:
- Contact customers with overdue payments via phone, SMS, email, and in-person visits.
- Negotiate repayment plans with customers in arrears.
- Maintain accurate records of all recovery activities.
- Prepare regular reports on recovery performance.
- Escalate complex cases to management.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in field verification, recovery, collections, or a related role.
- Experience in microfinance or fintech is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must have a valid Ghana Card.
- Must possess a valid Driver's Licence (Class A or AB).
- Must be a passionate motorbike rider.
- Comfortable working in the field daily.
