Are you a strategic marketer who isn't afraid to get your boots muddy? Do you know how to translate corporate brand vision into grass-roots success?

As the Zonal Marketing Lead, you will bridge the gap between our high-level corporate strategy and the practical, localized needs of farmers, distributors, and rural communities. You will own the regional marketing strategy within your assigned zone driving brand awareness, managing regional budgets, leading dynamic field teams, and ultimately accelerating product adoption where it matters most: on the ground.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Drive Localized Strategy: Translate national marketing objectives into tailored, zone-specific plans that align with local crop cycles, regional dialects, and unique farming practices.

  • Lead Field Campaigns & Activations: Organize and oversee high-impact B2B and B2C campaigns, including village-level farmer meets, crop demonstration days, dealer meets, and agricultural expos.

  • Empower Channel Partners: Collaborate with regional distributors, retailers, and ag-input dealers to design co-branding initiatives, trade loyalty programs, and high-visibility point-of-sale (POS) branding.

  • Gather Market Intelligence: Spend time in the field to capture crucial insights on competitor activities, pricing strategies, weather patterns, and evolving farmer pain points.

  • Build & Mentor Teams: Recruit, train and manage a high-performing team of Field Sales Officers and Agronomists across the zone.

  • Manage Regional Budgets: Allocate and optimize your zonal marketing budget, ensuring a high return on investment (ROI) for all regional spend.

What We Are Looking For (Core Competencies)

Knowledge & Technical Savvy

  • Agribusiness Landscape: Deep understanding of regional cropping patterns, soil types, farming seasons, and the agricultural input/output supply chain.

  • Rural Marketing Dynamics: Proven comprehension of how rural consumers perceive value, make purchasing decisions, and consume media (e.g., word-of-mouth, community influencers, and localized audio-visual content).

  • Ag-Tech & Digital Tools: Familiarity with CRM software, modern agricultural technologies, and digital channels (like WhatsApp marketing or localized SMS campaigns) tailored for rural audiences.

Skills & Abilities

  • The "Grit" Factor: High mobility and physical stamina to travel extensively (50–60%) into deep rural and remote farming areas.

  • Multilingual Capability: Fluent in speaking the prominent regional languages and dialects of the assigned zone.

  • Data-Driven Execution: Ability to turn macro-level data into actionable tactical plans, track campaign performance metrics, and pivot quickly in response to sudden weather shifts or market changes.

  • Authentic Communication: Exceptional skills to present confidently to corporate executives, while equally connecting authentically with rural farmers.

Mindset & Attitude

  • Farmer-Centric Empathy: A genuine passion for delivering solutions that improve farmers' livelihoods and yields.

  • Entrepreneurial Ownership: A self-starter attitude who treats their assigned zone as their own business ecosystem.

  • Collaborative Spirit: A bridging mindset that fosters strong, friction-free relationships between corporate marketing and the ground-level sales force.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA in Agribusiness or Marketing is highly desirable.

  • Experience: 5–8 years of experience in marketing, brand management, or field activations.

  • Industry Focus: At least 3 years of dedicated experience within the agribusiness sector (e.g., seeds, fertilizers, crop protection, farm machinery, or ag-tech platforms).

  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in scaling brand presence and driving product adoption in rural markets.
