Ghana Health Service is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the vacancy of Driver.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport staff, partners and materials safely to and from field sites, regional and district health directories and meeting venues, as scheduled by the Transport Manager.
- Conduct daily and routine vehicle checks (e.g. brakes, tyres, fuel and lubricant levels and cleanliness) and report mechanical faults to the Transport Manager promptly
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption records and maintenance/service schedules
- Support logistics for malaria commodity distribution and supervision visits
- Undertake official errands (e.g dispatch of documents and procurement-related runs) as assigned by the Transport Manager.
- Observe road safety regulations and comply with the GHS Transport Policy, guidelines and protocols at all times
- Maintain confidentiality on official NMEP/GHS matters

Qualification Required & Experience
- Valid Ghanaian driver's license (class appropriate to the assigned vehicle type) with a clean driving record
- Minimum of SSCE or WASSCE or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience, preferably within the public or health sector.
Competencies
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and good knowledge of road networks
- Safety consciousness and defensive driving skills
- Ability to read and interpret road signs, traffic rules and regulations and travel to remote areas
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Punctuality, reliability, integrity and discretion
