Job Purpose
You shall be responsible for the inspection of all production machines and equipment, performing of planned preventive and corrective maintenance and ensuring breakdowns on machines are fixed in a timely manner.

Duties
- Start up for all production machines and equipment before the start of production
- Inspection of all production machines and equipment for any physical damage
- Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance on all scheduled production equipment and machines
- Submit a daily preventive maintenance report to the supervisor for closeout
- Training and coaching of machine operators on the correct use of machines
- Ensure breakdowns on machines are fixed in a timely manner
- Ensure to request all spare parts required for maintenance work on time
- Submit monthly reports on all maintenance work in the production facilities
- Submit weekly reports on the state of the Production machines
- Adherence to health and safety protocols during maintenance works
- Adherence to food safety protocols during maintenance work
- Submit quarterly reports on process improvements in the production facilities
Departmental Relations with all department
- External Relations Maintains contact with 3rd party contractors related to maintenance
- Physical Requirements A lot of walking, standing, squatting, sitting, and lifting of materials required on the job
- Equipment/Tools to be used Computer, set of tools
Required Skills or Experience
Education, Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of HND, Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (plant or production option)
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably in a fruit processing environment.
- Analytical thinking skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Result-oriented skills
- Knowledge of machines and tools (i.e. Conveyors, motors, gearboxes, precision tools, grinding machines, drilling machines)
- Good knowledge in report writing
- Good knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations
- Written and verbal communication skills
