Job summary

Responsible for managing relationships among investors, executive management, regulators, and key investor relations stakeholders. This role involves coordinating communication channels, ensuring transparency in financial reporting, and aligning stakeholder expectations with organizational objectives.

Key Tasks

  • A point of contact between investors and the company. This includes providing timely and accurate financial and non-financial information to investors, financial analysts, and their representatives.
  • Contribute to Board input on investor concerns.
  • Ensuring that the statutory provisions and the provisions of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Code regarding communications with investors and shareholders are met.
  • Input into the development and maintenance of a company's investor relations plan.
  • Perform a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial modeling, financial metrics, and differentiation.
  • Deliver business value through partnership with MTN Ghana’s Ecosystem Partners (Securities and Exchange Commission, equity investors, debt investors, and other relevant stakeholders).
  • Monitor performance metrics for the investor relations function. This includes benchmarking investor relations performance and continuously striving for improvement.
  • Monitor operational changes through ongoing contact with company management and develop investor relations messages based on these changes.
  • Serve as the liaison for the investment community by collaborating with Corporate Affairs (Internal Communications) to ensure that all Investor Relations communications are appropriate for external delivery. This will involve creating presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors.
  • Oversee the development of materials for Stock Exchange announcements, conference call scripts, Q&As, and presentations for quarterly, interim, and year-end.
  • Manage the investor relations portion of the company website and maintain relationships with stock exchange representatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stock exchange representatives and develop a good rapport with analysts and fund managers to foster mutual trust and respect.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding the investment community's perception of how the company is being managed and their view of its financial results, and oversee the timely communication of responses to all investor relations queries in an appropriate manner
  • Contribute to shaping, articulating, and managing MTN Ghana's investment story
  • Collate, analyze, and present the views of the investor community to the management team to inform corporate strategy development
  • Provide feedback to the management team on the impact of stock repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community
  • Project manage and facilitate the results announcement (in collaboration with Corporate Affairs), events, and other investor relations events

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related field of study.
  • Legal/Financial law experience an added advantage

Experience:

  • 5 years minimum experience of managing investor relations preferably in a multinational organisation with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Track record/Evidence of significant business & social network.
  • Good understanding of mobile telecoms industry advantageous/preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements
  • Knowledge of Ghana’s securities and company laws and regulations
