ABOUT THE ROLE
The Smart Home Retail Assistant at Process & Plant Automation Ghana Limited is responsible for supporting retail sales operations of smart home products within the showroom and retail environment. The role focuses on assisting walk-in and online customers, demonstrating smart home products, processing sales transactions, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
He/She will support the Smart Home Portfolio by promoting products, maintaining attractive product displays, assisting with inventory control, and contributing to achieving retail sales targets. The role requires strong product knowledge, customer engagement skills, and a proactive sales mindset.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Retail Sales & Customer Engagement
- Attend to walk-in and online customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Demonstrate smart home devices (switches, sensors, hubs, cameras, lighting, etc.) in the showroom.
- Explain product features, compatibility, and benefits clearly to customers.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable products based on their needs and budget.
- Upsell and cross-sell complementary smart home devices.
- Support the achievement of monthly retail sales targets.

2. Product Knowledge & Demonstration
- Maintain strong knowledge of smart home technologies including WiFi, Zigbee, hubs, and automation platforms.
- Stay updated on new product launches and promotions.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining demo units in the showroom.
- Conduct basic customer education on installation and app configuration where necessary.
3. Stock & Inventory Support
- Monitor retail stock levels and report low stock to the Portfolio Manager or BU Lead.
- Assist with stock receiving, labeling, and shelf arrangement.
- Ensure accurate stock reconciliation between physical stock and ERP records.
- Maintain organized and attractive retail displays.
4. Sales Administration
- Process retail transactions using assigned ERP/POS systems.
- Issue invoices and receipts accurately.
- Maintain daily sales records and support retail sales reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation of warranties and product returns.
5. Customer Service & After-Sales Support
- Handle basic customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Escalate technical or complex issues to the Solutions Consultant or Technical Team.
- Support warranty claims and returns process in line with company policy.
- Follow up with customers when required to ensure satisfaction.
6. Showroom & Brand Representation
- Maintain showroom cleanliness and product presentation standards.
- Ensure all demo devices are powered, functional, and presentable.
- Represent the company brand professionally at all times.
- Support retail events, promotions, and product activation campaigns.
7. Management Systems
- Uphold company HSE-Q management systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge of and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures
- Follow all safe work procedures, rules, and instructions
- Risk Assessment
- Hazard identification and reporting
- Knowledge on the safe use of all tools and equipment as applicable

Required Skills or Experience
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years’ experience in retail sales, electronics sales, or smart home/ICT retail environment.
- Experience with POS or ERP systems is an advantage
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic understanding of IoT and smart home technologies.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Sales-driven and target-oriented mindset.
- Good presentation and demonstration skills.
- Basic technical troubleshooting ability.
- Proficiency in POS/ERP systems.
- Organized and detail-oriented
