We are excited to support our client, a leading financial services company (Specialized Deposit-Taking Institution) to recruit a Technology Governance & Compliance Lead
About the Role
They are seeking a tech-savvy leader with strong roots in IT, systems integration, and digital operations who can now take on a broader role in oversight, governance, and compliance. This role requires someone who understands technology at a deep level but is equally comfortable driving compliance, IT audits, cybersecurity frameworks, and vendor oversight.
The Technology Governance & Compliance Lead will ensure that all digital initiatives; from USSD and online banking to ERP/CRM integrations, data warehouse builds, and payment gateway rollouts; meet regulatory, security, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Technology Oversight & IT Audit
- Lead IT audit readiness and implement governance structures for outsourced tech builds.
- Evaluate and monitor third-party vendors (apps, payment gateways, ERP/CRM providers) for compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee system integration projects, ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with business goals.
- Regulatory Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to Bank of Ghana directives, AML/CFT rules, data protection regulations, and IT-related compliance requirements.
- Integrate RegTech solutions to streamline compliance monitoring, reporting, and risk management.
- Advise management on emerging risks in fintech, payments, cybersecurity, and data governance.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Oversee cybersecurity policies, data protection frameworks, penetration testing, and incident response planning.
- Establish IT risk management frameworks across all digital platforms and integrations.
- Monitor threats and vulnerabilities to mobile money, APIs, and enterprise systems.
- Business Process Optimization
- Work with leadership to digitize and automate compliance and operational workflows.
- Support IT-driven efficiency initiatives, ensuring systems are resilient, secure, and regulator-ready.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master’s/MBA is an advantage.
Experience:
- 8+ years in IT, systems integration, or cybersecurity, with at least 3+ years moving into oversight, governance, or compliance roles.
- Hands-on background in fintech, banking, payments, or IT consulting.
- Familiarity with Bank of Ghana compliance frameworks is a plus (but not mandatory).
Preferred Certifications: CISA, CISM, CISSP, PMP, CAMS.
Skills:
- Strong IT audit and risk assessment experience.
- Deep knowledge of APIs, payments systems, mobile money, ERP/CRM platforms, and data warehousing.
- Ability to bridge technology execution and compliance oversight.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
