Job Description

  • Position Title: Program Assistant (Intern) – Social Media
  • Reports To: Program Officer
  • Employment Type: Internship (Full-time)
  • Duration: 6 months

Purpose of the Role

The Program Assistant (Intern) – Social Media will support the organization’s communication and visibility efforts by helping to create, manage, and promote digital content across various online platforms. This internship provides hands-on learning experience in social media management, content design, and digital storytelling while aligning with Pleroma Sycamore’s mission and communication strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Assist in developing and scheduling social media posts for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Support in community engagement by responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Help maintain consistent organizational branding and tone across all platforms.
  • Monitor trends and suggest creative ways to improve engagement and visibility.

Program & Event Support

  • Help promote organizational programs, events, and initiatives online.
  • Provide social media coverage during events, including photography, videography, and live updates.
  • Assist with capturing and organizing stories, testimonials, and highlights from activities.

Design & Creative Support

  • Create simple graphics, flyers, and visuals using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
  • Support preparation of short videos or reels for program promotion.
  • Ensure that all creative outputs follow Pleroma Sycamore’s branding and messaging guidelines.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and compile basic engagement metrics for social media posts.
  • Support the preparation of monthly communication reports.
  • Contribute to documentation of lessons learned and innovative approaches to online engagement.

Administrative & Learning Support

  • Maintain organized archives of digital media files and social media content.
  • Participate in team meetings and mentorship sessions as part of the learning process.
  • Support administrative and logistical tasks related to communication and outreach.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree (or current student) in Communication, Media Studies, Marketing, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital engagement strategies.
  • Good writing, editing, and visual communication skills.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar software.
  • Experience in photography, video editing, or graphic design is an added advantage.
  • Commitment to Christian values and the mission of Pleroma Sycamore Organization
