The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Times Corporation and subject to such general directions as the Board may give is responsible for the overall leadership, co-ordination, guidance and supervision of the work of the corporation
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer and manage the corporation on a day-to-day basis
- Implement policies and support the formulation of strategic plans
- Ensure the preparation and submission of relevant reports on the operations of the corporation to the Board
- Develop and maintain a management culture that will foster co-operation, commitment, efficiently, accountability, productivity and healthy labour relations
- Develop and implement systems and methods for effective monitoring and control of activities of the corporation and healthy labour relations
- Any other relevant duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Board

Qualification Required & Experience
- A Master’s degree in the Sciences or Arts, preferably Mass Communication, Journalism, Business/Public Administration, Engineering, Economics, Management or a Post-Graduate Professional Certificate/Qualification or relevant specialist industry training with not less than 10 years of post-qualification relevant work experience, 5 years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable institution
- The successful candidate should be able to serve a term of 4 years before he/she attains the compulsory retirement age of 60 years

- Strong managerial and organizational skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of the print media
- Demonstration of creativity and good business acumen
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent administrative and supervisory skills
- Good team player
- Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer and software application
- Conversant with the Financial Administration Act, the Public Procurement Act, the Internal Audit Agency Act, the National Media Commission Act and the 1992 constitution
- Excellent marketing orientation and good knowledge of media networks, particularly the Print media
